Mihara House (Project) Tokyo, 1918
Only two conceptual drawings for this design for the Mihara family survive. The structure's small size would seem to indicate that it was to be a guesthouse or a second home, rather than a primary residence.
The large gatehouse, which takes its cue from Japanese temple design, bears a striking resemblance
to Arata Endo's earlier design for the Meiji Shrine Treasure House.
The Mihara House was never built. (KS)
