Shimpei Goto House (Project) Tokyo, 1921
Wright did preliminary sketches of a two-story home for Baron Shimpei Goto, Tokyo's governor at the time. They demonstrate a remarkable adaptation of the Prairie style to an official residence, with a suitable formality of design and government scaling.
The design features a large reception hall on the ground floor, with a loggia from which guests could
view the extensive garden.
The Goto residence was never built. (KS)
